{Caroline is 4 weeks old}
We're close to her first monthly post! I think since there isn't a 31st of June, I'll just post on July 1st after her one month doctor's visit. I can't wait to see how much she weighs now... she looks like she's packing it on!

Used my iPhone (Instagram app w/ tilt shift) to snap this image of Kate looking out the kitchen window today. And, yes, she is proudly sporting a measuring tape around her neck. After I had it out this morning, she had to have it, then wouldn't let go of it!

{family outing}
Caroline and I joined Nick and Kate at the neighborhood pool this afternoon. Daddy snagged us a great spot in complete shade, and there was a nice breeze, too. It was fun to be able to join them for a little while!

{yum: tortellini and tomato salad} You're going to love this summery pasta salad! I read about this recipe from Blue Eyed Bride's blog. It's from Southern Living, and it's SO quick to throw together. Here's a direct link to the recipe. We went to Whole Foods today to stock up on some Kate dairy-free essentials, so we were able to find the "heirloom" tomatoes (both red and green) that the recipe calls for. They were very flavorful, but plain 'ol cherry tomatoes would work fine, too. The only other changes we made were to add some basil directly into the food processor and to omit the onions. (I'm NOT an onion fan.) Also, I think I'll add a little more lemon juice next time. Yes, we will be making this one again! Ingredients

When my grandmother comes over, Kate becomes interested in only 2 things: the appliques on Grandmother's shirt (usually butterflies or flowers) and her walker. You'd think it was monkey bars!

{Caroline is 3 weeks old}
She eats great and sleeps great, too! She consistently goes for a 5 or 6 hour stretch between feedings at night. WOW!

Nick went back to work today. Although we missed Dada, Kate kept herself PLENTY busy.
