july 3: in the baby pool
This was an "oops" picture, but I loved it anyway! :)
july 1: ice cream
Well, coconut milk ice cream, but a treat nonetheless.
water babies
This weekend we visited our neighborhood pool for the first and second times this season. Caroline took to the water immediately, and Kate required a little more time to feel at ease. By the end of day 1, though, both girls were jumping in from the side, and felt comfortable floating unassisted (Puddle Jumpers on, of course). Yesterday Kate surprised us both by wanting to jump in without us catching her (and going under)! Our swim lessons are scheduled for next month, so we'll see what happens without the floaties then! Settings: 85mm, ISO 200, f/6.3, 1/1000 sec.
it's the little things: water
It's time for our monthly blog circle again! This month's theme is "water." Such an easy one since we play in the water practically every day! I took these when we were down in Austin at Nick's parents' house a couple of weeks ago. Nick's mom and I took the girls out to the stream behind their house, stripped them down, and let them wade in the water. They had so much fun throwing rocks and splashing in the beautiful last light of day. They could have stayed out there forever!
Follow our blog circle around, and leave some comments for my friends! Next up is Megan Dill. Her work is so inspiring!
Mother's Day FILM
Yup, another roll of film. (Or actually, the second part of this roll.)
For Mother's Day, we took a picnic lunch to Arbor Hills after church. I just took my film camera, but I sorely regretted that decision when the girls started splashing around in the stream and I ran out of film! Just means we'll have to go back. ;)
Nikon N80 + 50mm
Portra 400 (rated at box speed)
Scanned by Indie Film Lab (large scans)
Llano River Trip: FILM batch 2
Here is the second roll of film from our trip to the river with Nick's fam.
Nikon N80 + 85mm or 28mm
Fuji 400H (rated at box speed and overexposed by 1-2 stops)
Scanned by Walgreens (So disappointed by the awful lines going through all of these. May just bite the bullet and send them all out to pro labs from now on.)
I'll have one more "Llano River Trip" post once I get my digitals done!
