Ever since I pulled out this headband for Kate to put on yesterday, she's been trying to put it on by herself. In fact, after just watching this video of herself, she's at it again! I love this girl.
These are a few of Kate's "treasures" that sit atop her bookshelf. Pollyanna was my mom's, the flowers were from my grandmother when Kate was born, and the silver cup was from my parents for Kate's first birthday.
I've never played with textures much, but I had fun learning! It was surprisingly simple, and I like the effect it gives here.
This is Kate's version of "peekaboo." Sometimes she'll cover her eyes a little bit and squint, but most of the time she covers her ears. If she has a blanket, she can do it right, but just using hands is tough! Cracks me up every time.
WARNING: FEED TODDLER AT YOUR OWN RISK. Meal times were a beating today. Kate only wants to feed herself; she doesn't want me to spoon anything to her. Miss Independent!
Stinky Face Nana came over today to play with Kate while Pops went to the Super Bowl. Kate kept us cracking up with her antics, including this stinky face (complete with the huffing through her nose)!
We woke up to gorgeous snow this morning, day #4 of ice and temps in the teens. We had a little snow on Tuesday, but this was the real deal! Only an inch of accumulation was predicted, so we were surprised to see a good 4 or 5 inches on the ground. Nick worked from home again, but he made time this afternoon to come out and play awhile. I love the way Kate is looking up at him.
See her feet? Nick's such an engineer... he tied plastic grocery sacks on her feet to keep the wet out. Worked like a charm. Tally up another use for grocery sacks!
No babies were harmed in the taking of these photographs. Promise! She popped right up and climbed up on the chair again. This chair provides an endless amount of fun for Kate, the dare devil. Up, down, up, down, up, down...
Relegated to the upstairs. Due to the weather, Nick's been working from home the past couple of days, so Kate and I have made more use of the playroom. I'm starting to go a little stir crazy!
