Catching up...

I have been so bad about blogging images. Of course, I've not been so great at that whole "picking up the camera" thing lately, either! Pregnancy has worn me out. Baby's arrival is planned a week from tomorrow, though, so I expect there to be an influx of photos after that! I think what I'll do is go back and create a few posts that are dated correctly. Only a few months behind here!

In the meantime, here's one of Kate from just a few days ago. I just love her soulful stare!

7 favorites on 7 - august

Here is this month's hodge-podge post of 7 favorites! As you'll see, most of our outings involve swimsuits and water - gotta beat that heat! ;) Please follow our blog circle around to Kristy Dooley Photography. Her girls remind me so much of mine!

it's the little things: new

We're back in the swing of things with our blog circle, and we added a few new members, too! Be sure to click through everyone's posts to see some amazing stuff. Up next is my friend, Allison McSorley, a talented photographer in NYC. Last month one of my dearest friends gave birth to her third child - a baby girl - a special gift to her mama, and a little princess for her daddy and two older brothers. I was beyond excited when Clara made her debut on a Saturday morning when I could easily leave the girls with Nick and make the 1 mile drive to the hospital to document her arrival. What an amazing experience! Is there any better "new" than this??

not my norm

(from Feb. 19)

Caroline and I were on our way home from taking Kate to school one Tuesday, and I happened to have my camera in the car. It was a gorgeous morning, and things were starting to look green, so I stopped here and there for a few shots. They don't go together very well, but I'm dumping them all together anyway! :)

These first couple took me by surprise. I was shooting the green grass and the blue skies when this flock of birds suddenly rose from the fields. It happened so fast, I'm not sure how I managed to grab focus so well!

This one was taken out of my front windshield. I was trying to find one of the red birds that I had seen around, but this guy had to do.

Gorgeous morning light streaming through the green... so exciting to see signs of spring!

birthday trip to napa

(from sept. 1-3)

My big birthday (#30!) fell on Labor Day weekend this year, so Nick's mom and dad kindly offered to watch the girls for the weekend if we wanted to go on a little getaway. And since Nick had plenty of airline and hotel points, we jumped at the chance!

Nick got a free car rental upgrade... a red Jeep! It ended up being one of the most fun parts of the trip. We did a lot of driving up and down the main highway, and it was fun to pull the top down and enjoy the cooler temps.

It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend!
