lens baby: tea party at harry moss park

We've had a ton of Lens Baby meetups lately! We're taking advantage of the nice weather and getting out as much as possible before the unbearable heat sets in.

We drove down to a favorite location, Harry Moss Park, for a tea party-themed shoot. Of course, my girls ended up being the only girls there! We really just enjoyed the pretty location more than really going with the theme so much. Kate liked the pinwheel that her friend brought, so that was her prop of choice. :)

sleeping kate

I have tried many times to sneak in right before Kate's supposed to wake up to get some pictures of her asleep, but I always seem to wake her up the second I walk in the door.

This time was different. She was SOUND asleep. I was even able to raise the blinds to get some light in her room without her stirring!

There's something so sweet about watching your babies sleep...

april showers

I'm trying to get all caught up on all my editing, so I've got lots of blog posts coming up over the next few days.

I took these yesterday afternoon. Kate was running around the house in her t-shirt and diaper cover. When she pulled on her rain boots, her little "outfit" made me giggle! I pulled out the umbrella I'd bought for her, and out she went to play in the rain, sans pants. :)

Kate was SO excited about her new "rainbrella!" She wasn't too concerned about keeping it over her head, though!

Hope these make you smile!

bluebonnet bust 2012

This year's trip out to the bluebonnets didn't go so well! While we did enjoy hanging out with our friends, my pictures weren't what I'd hoped for.

Kate did not enjoy being in the flowers. They were so thick and tall that she had trouble finding places to step, so she just wanted to be held. A little while later she started saying "Hurt, hurt!" in a kind of panicky way. We later saw she'd been bitten up by ants on her foot, and her whole food was so swollen it wouldn't even fit in her shoe. Not a good morning for Kate to have her picture taken!

Caroline was a champ, but she just wants to crawl and eat things off the ground, so no beautiful portrait of her, either.

Maybe some evening soon we'll try again when the light is prettier and we have a happy Kate. Or maybe it will have to wait for next year.

erwin park

Sunday afternoon we went over to nearby Erwin Park for a little while. While it doesn't have a playground, it does have lots of space, and we enjoyed letting Kate "off leash." ;)

I really should bring the tripod so I can get in the shots, too. My three loves...

 Kate, show us your flower.

Kate got SO excited when she found a "forest." There was really no way through, but she found ways to get in the trees.

It won't be long, and this one'll be running around out there too.

Gross. But it kept her a little occupied. Second child.

Where's Caroline?  Peekaboo...there she is!

I loved this branch. If only she'd pose for me, I'd be set. Tongue sticking out wasn't exactly what I had in mind!

Watching a family shoot off rockets.

I was there! See??

No wildflower fields, but there were flowers, so I practiced a little w/ my macro lens.

And Kate actually "took" this one. (She pressed the shutter.) The camera was on the ground. I thought it was interesting!

Thanks for checking in on our blog!
